The 2nd International Turkic World Women Workshop was held on October 2-3, 2025, in Baku, Azerbaijan, hosted by Khazar University. The event was organized under the coordination of the Umay Ana Turkic World Women’s Union with the support of the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture and Tourism, TÜRKSOY, TİKA, YTB, and the World Union of Ahıska Turks (DATÜB), among other institutions.
The workshop brought together academics, entrepreneurs, civil society representatives, and media professionals from various countries of the Turkic World. Sessions focused on the role of women in society, leadership potential, examples of entrepreneurship, and their contributions to contemporary transformations.

Dr. Ayşin Şişman (Director of KAGİMER, Istanbul Gedik University): Delivered a presentation titled “Women’s Leadership and Entrepreneurship in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”, highlighting the importance of women in digital transformation.

Lecturer Sibel Karabel: Presented “Nezihe Muhittin and the Women’s People Party”, examining the historical development of women’s movements.

Dr. Nilay Utlu: Conducted collaborative meetings within KAGİMER’s ongoing projects.
Inspiring Contributions from the Turkic World
Leading women from the Turkic World shared their knowledge, experiences, and success stories, inspiring all participants.
Fuat Uçar, Secretary General of the World Union of Ahıska Turks (DATÜB), conveyed the message of General President Ziyatdin Kassanov, emphasizing the unifying power of women in the Turkic World:
“The foundation of a strong nation is strong women. The future of the Turkic World will be built by courageous, productive, and educated women. As DATÜB, we will continue to support women to be more visible, influential, and empowered in all areas.”
Uçar also highlighted DATÜB’s ongoing projects promoting women’s active participation in social, cultural, and economic life, noting that these initiatives will continue to grow under President Kassanov’s vision.
Organization and Evening Program
The Women’s Branch of DATÜB played a key role in preparing and organizing the workshop. Following the sessions, an evening reception brought together guests from different regions of the Turkic World. The Adıgön Folk Dance Group, composed of Ahıska Turks, performed traditional dances, receiving widespread acclaim.
Distinguished attendees included Maria Semyonovna, Minister of Culture of the Gagauz Autonomous Region, Arzu Erdem, MHP Istanbul Member of Parliament, and Prof. Dr. Mualla Uydu Yücel, President of Umay Ana Turkic World Women’s Union, who were honored with gifts for their contributions.
The 2nd International Turkic World Women Workshop concluded in a warm and inspiring atmosphere, strengthening women’s presence in social, cultural, and economic life while reinforcing the spirit of unity and solidarity across the Turkic World.
