Ziyatdin Kassanov
Ziyatdin Ismikhanovich Kassanov (born 23 November 1958, Almaty, Kazakhstan) is a Kazakh businessman, public figure, and the founder and President of the World Union of Ahıska Turks (DATÜB).
Early life and education
Ziyatdin Kassanov was born on 23 November 1958 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
He graduated from the National University of Almaty, Faculty of National Economy, in 1981 and earned a master’s degree in economics.
Career
Since 1995, Kassanov has been active as a private entrepreneur. He is the Chairman of the Board of Kassanov Investment Group, a holding company operating in more than 70 different sectors.
Social and community activities
Kassanov began his involvement in social and cultural activities in 1991 by providing financial and moral support to the Ahıska Turkish Cultural Center established in Almaty.
In 1999, he was elected Chairman of the Ahıska Association in Almaty, marking the start of his active participation in community leadership. He continues to serve in this position in Kazakhstan.
In 2013, during the 19th session of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, chaired by President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kassanov was appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the Assembly.
He is also the founder and current President of the World Union of Ahıska Turks (DATÜB).
