A delegation from the World Union of Ahıska Turks (DATÜB) paid a courtesy visit to Prof. Dr. Birol Akgün, the Turkish Ambassador to Baku.
The delegation included DATÜB Secretary General Fuat Uçar, Azerbaijan Representative Halid Halilov, Editor-in-Chief of Ahıska Newspaper and Turkic Union Magazine Rövşen Mehmetoğlu, and Mrs. Gülhanım Aznaurova, wife of Azerbaijani National Hero Martyr Iskender Aznaurov.
During the meeting, Secretary General Fuat Uçar conveyed the greetings of DATÜB President Ziyatdin Kassanov and briefed Ambassador Akgün on the Union’s recent activities. The delegation also expressed appreciation for Prof. Dr. Akgün’s support of the Almaty/Talgar High School during his tenure as President of the Turkish Maarif Foundation.
The DATÜB delegation extended their best wishes to Ambassador Akgün in his new position and expressed their gratitude for his sincere interest and support toward the Ahıska Turks living in Azerbaijan.
